Your web page will remain in the Inktomi index for 12 months,
re-indexed every 48 hours.
Just before the expiration date, you will receive an email with
renewal instructions. You can either renew for the next 12
months, or cancel your subscription.
Inktomi will re-index your page every 48 hours. This means
that it will take approximately 2 days for any changes to be
reflected in the Inktomi search index.
No preferential treatment is given to search submit customers
in regards to positioning. All results are ranked according to
their relevancy to any given search query.
Because your web pages will be re-indexed every 48 hours, you
will be able to fine tune your page to improve the relevancy.
I have submitted my
site but cannot find it on the search engines?
Ensure that your site is fully operational.
Some Tips:
Your page should not generate error messages such as "File
not Found","Internal Server Error".
Your page must not require a username, password, cookie or
other authentication in order to access it.
Inktomi do not spider pages hosted on a secure server (i.e.,
https://)
Check that your robots.txt file does not prohibit the spider
from spidering the page
The Web Page must contain text in the HTML, not graphics
only.
Inktomi will respider your page every 48 hours, thus when your
site is operational it will be spidered and included within 48
hours.
Inktomi will spider the pages submitted via this service
every 48 hours and that they will be included in the Inktomi
database so long as they adhere to the Inktomi guidelines. Sites
submitted through the free service are not guaranteed inclusion
and are spidered only during the periodical updates with the
Inktomi spider.
All sites submitted must follow the content policy set down
by Inktomi.
