Xara
Ltd has
been developing software since 1981, and is one of the oldest
continuously trading independent software developers in the
business today. The company has developed software for a
variety of platforms over the years, starting with the BBC
Micro, and has evolved with the changing hardware landscape.
Xara Ltd's first Windows product was launched in 1994, a
mainstream vector illustration package called Xara Studio.
Shortly after the release of
Xara Studio V.1, Xara began a marketing and distribution
co-operation with Corel Corporation, as a result of which Corel
took on exclusive responsibility for the world-wide distribution
of Xara Studio (renamed CorelXARA). Xara Ltd has
continued to develop CorelXARA and with the end of the Corel
agreement in 2000, Xara Ltd once more has the opportunity to
distribute its flagship world-class vector illustration
package - now renamed and re-launched as Xara X - a
significantly enhanced and improved program. Xara X is
now being sold alongside our other graphics products aimed
specifically at Web graphic designers, Xara3D and Xara
WebStyle.
